Have you always longed to be a world traveler? Do you find international architecture, culture, clothing, and history fascinating?
Well, today is your lucky day because adventure is knocking! Close To My Heart is about to bring a bit of the world to you—right in your own home! Throughout the month of August, we’ll be sharing amazing artwork inspired by artistic traditions from four different countries across the world.
In each post we’ll give you some cultural background about the art form, and then we’ll go sightseeing to marvel at some truly exceptional papercrafting artwork. Each of these posts will be distinguished with the title “Around the World” followed by the name of the country the artistic tradition comes from.
But the adventure doesn’t stop there. With each “Around the World” post, we’re going to give away four travel-themed My Acrylix® stamp sets for a total of 16 stamp sets in one month! These blog posts will not only be your passport to the world, but also your passport to win some pretty awesome stamps. 🙂
How do you enter to win one of these stamp sets? Simply comment on an “Around the World” blog post. The more comments you make, the more you will increase your odds of winning! At the end of the month, we’ll randomly select 16 winners and announce them on the blog.
What do you say? Are you ready to soak in artistic inspiration from all around the world and win a stamp set while you’re at it? If the answer is yes, then be sure to check in frequently and prepare yourself for the journey of a lifetime! It’s time to get inspired.
First trip out of Australia was to the U.S. Last year, we loved it and want to see more of the U.S. Thousands of photo taken reduced to two beautiful albums filled of loving memories of the U.S.
Awesome! We can travel vicariously!
Japan is one of many places we have not visited. I love the concept of repairing rather than throwing out pieces that are loved. Well captured on the page!
I’m always ready for an adventure!!!
This idea is amazing….can’t wait to see everything!
Like the simplicity of this page.
What a great adventure! I am looking forward to all the posts!
Great ideas!
this Japanese theory is so true. When you suffer and heal, you are still you but better and continue to grow!
Looking forward to some great ideas.
What a wonderful message that spans beyond crafting! Thank you for sharing this!
I lovr this idea! Cannot wait to see !
Will be lovely to see all of the adventures that we will be taken on

Thank you so much.
Thank you CTMH for taking us on this travel and crafting adventure!
I can’t wait to find out where the second place is we are going. I hope I didn’t miss it. If I did will someone please let me know.
Thank you!
The page made me tear up! A beautiful page, a beautiful concept! Thank you!
Love the point…. you’re beautiful, cracks and all. This is something that we all need to be reminded of every now and then. Life puts lots of pressures on us and sometimes we crack and have to start rebuilding all over again. I’m inspired by this page to do one of my own. Thanks so much.
I went through six countries in Europe twenty years ago. I’ve never scrapbooked my trip. I hope we will “tour” one of those countries so I can get ideas for incorporating art styles I saw.
LUV the embossing sparkle.
I have lots of trips to scrap – thanks for the chance to win!
Lovely! I could actually see the pottery influence in the page design.

I love stained glass windows, but never knew the history. It breaks my heart when I see churches vandalized and the windows broken then having to have iron bars covering the beauty.
Thank you for sharing this.
Beautiful…I love stained glass!
What a fantastic way to travel with out leaving your home. Also will give my husband and I ideas as to where we would like to go next.
Paris, I was fortunate to visit in 2013 and did get to see Notre Dame. It was a great three days. Would love to go back someday!
Stained glass intricate and delicate artwork! So, beautiful! I love it.
We’ll always have Paris!! I love the stained glass techniques–different, but both like stained glass! Can’t wait for the next one! Where to next? Is STICKY BOY going to be our intrepid adventurer, like Waldo, Carmen San Diego, and the Travelling Gnome, who went before him? He would make a wonderful protagonist for our Travelogue! Where will ye go next Sticky Boy?
Stained Glass is so beautiful .. love the watercolor technique !!
These are so beautiful and so creative. Love them.
Love the art work, love that the light of God shines through us as in the stain glass windows, and I love the sentimentality of seeing the Notre Dame Carhedral; a reminder of our holiday in 2008!
Ooh la la. Tres chic.
Delightful artwork!
I adore learning about different cultures and meeting new people! I am new to international travels but i am loving it all the same 😉
Just breath taking. Loving every bit of it.
Quite Beautiful: The stained glass in Paris, the card, and the layout! Thank you for sharing!
Love Paris and Norte Dame. Absolutely stunning card and super creative page. Thank you for the inspiration.
Oh how I wish that I was the one taking the plane trip and getting to see all this and being able to take the pictures to send back to everyone. What an amazing opportunity this would be. I’ve always been afraid to fly but that is on my bucket list. I will get to do it before I get to go home. I’m trying to think of a lay out for the stained glass windows. I want it to be different from anyone else s….(no offence ladies, please) but I want it to be unique! Thank You so much Jeanette for this wonderful opportunity.

love the layouts from each of the countries
so want to travel ‘down under’! Have met some awesome people on facebook, would love to meet them in person.
Our ink spots would be a good stamp to use in a layout with the Australian theme
Lovely flowing lines…the page looks like it’s moving.
Traveling we shall go!
