Can you believe that we’re already halfway through National Scrapbooking Month? With just a couple of weeks left to get our Postcard Perfect paper collection, created especially in celebration of this time of year, we wanted to give you some inspo for pocket scrapbooking using these beautiful papers.
There are so many things going on in this layout to point out. First off, take a close look at the pocket cards. Each one is made using one of the designs from the cut-out page included in the Postcard Perfect paper packet.
This sheet comes with a variety of scenic inspired images on one side for you to cut out and use as embellishments in any of your scrapbooking or cardmaking projects. They can ALSO be used to create your own pocket cards, like we did here, as layout titles, card fronts, and anywhere you want to add a splash of tropical flair.
Did you notice the pearls on our layout?
When scrapbooking with pockets, it’s easy to opt out of using embellishments that have dimension in fear that they will make the Memory Protectors™ bulge and somehow compromise the aesthetic of our designs. An easy fix—attach the embellishment to the outside!
There’s another element of this pocket layout that you probably didn’t notice at first glance: Flip Flaps™!
We just cannot get enough of these awesome pockets! Exclusive to Close To My Heart, Flip Flaps are extra pockets that you can attach to any layout, pocket scrapbooking or not, to incorporate additional photos or journaling. They are a fun, interactive way, to make room for your whole story.
Our most cherished memories, regardless if we’re surrounded by palm trees, truly are Postcard Perfect, even if it’s just to us.
The last thing we want to point out are the pictures that were used in this Postcard Perfect layout. They are of children having a blast splashing around and playing in a pool, not a sandy beach. These could’ve been taken at a pool party in someone’s backyard or even the local community pool. Your scenic getaway is whatever you make of it.
As we celebrate the second half of National Scrapbooking month don’t forget about pocket scrapbooking. This collection has so much potential beyond classic layouts. Take it to the crafty level and make all your stories Postcard Perfect!

2 great LOs in pocket scrapbooking using the Postcard Perfect paper Cut Above kit….I utilize both the traditional scrapbooking and the Pocket scrapbooking in my twin granddaughters books …love the CTMH ring binder albums for just that purpose!
I have tried pocket scrapbooking I like it if I’m in a rush and have a lot of photos . I prefer making two page layouts though or the cut above products are my absolute favourite love them . I like giving my picture 3D effects and not flat . Thank you for the chance to win
Have tried pocket scrapbooking but prefer to make layouts as I always seem to have heaps of photos to use. Love flip flaps!
I have not tried pocket scrapbooking, but I would!
Haven’t tried it yet, but it’s on my list to try.
While I prefer “traditional scrapbooking” I find that I use pocket scrapbooking occasionally when I want to get those pictures in the album really quickly.
I love pocket scrapbooking. It eliminates the need for a perfect cutting guide and counting slots on layouts to add the right number of photos. It’s so fast and easy!
I have tried the pocket scrapbooking. I absolutely love it. I did a few pages of my sons wedding pictures. Easy to use. I also have used the flip flaps and love those!
I have tried pocket scrapbooking and I do like it especially since I started scrapbooking when my children were older. So I like to use it for getting caught up.
I have tried pocket scrapbooking, and use it occasionally when I want to get something finished really quickly, but prefer traditional scrapbooking. I feel like I have more flexibility in creating my pages with traditional scrapbooking, even if it does take longer. However, I love using the pocket cards on traditional pages – then I can have the best of both worlds!
I have not tried pocket scrapbooking. I’m not a huge scrapper. I would love to try this technique on a vacation though! I think this Post Card Perfect cards would be the perfect for it! If not, I have used the cards for making greeting cards!!
I love pocket scrapbooking, it’s a great way to add extra photos into your album. I love the new pocket plus designs. The flip flaps used in the layout above it a fabulous touch. Great tips.
I love to use them for all the extra pictures I have!
I am relatively new to the whole scrapbooking process. I have never tried pocket scrapbooking!
I love creating two page layouts. The pocket pages are fantastic for adding those extra photos and journaling. The best of both worlds.
Have not tried pocket scrapbooking, I prefer traditional scrapbooking, but do use them on my pages and love flip flaps!!!
Love your product, you just make everything so easy!! I combine regular 12×12 pages with pocket pages when scrapbooking, and love both! The pocket pages, do make it incredibly easy to just pop in your cards or photos, and then you can decide to embellish more, or leave as is! Thanks for the chance to win!
I use the pocket pages when I have TONS of pictures and cannot scrapbook them all. It is different from the regular scrapbooking and I do like a change of pace. It makes me think out of the box and I love them! And, did I say how easy they are to use? Yep, they are easy, peasy!
I love pocket pages as a way of getting many photos in an album fast and super easy while still being beautiful
I love pockets and I love traditional paper scrapbooking. Often I have combined both. Pockets are great to put in a pamphlet from your trip that you can’t bear to throw out or odd shaped pics that wouldn’t otherwise fit but want to include in your story. Half page pockets are great for this. Postcard perfect is just another beautiful paper collection from CTMH!!
I like combining pocket scrapbooking with traditional scrapbooking so that I can add more pictures to a layout!
Have never done pocket scrapbooking. Not sure why.
Cute layout. I like the flip flaps and the tip on adding the pearls to the outside. I have not done pocket scrapbooking before but I think I would like it.
Have not had a chance to do pocket scrapbooking but looking forward to trying it
I love adding the pockets to my scrapbook layouts. Using the pockets is a great way to add to the story with much less work.
Postcard Perfect is well just that…Perfect!
When I have too many pictures for a layout, I will add some pocket scrapbooking. I don’t do it very often since I still prefer traditional scrapbooking.
Yes I LOVE flip flaps. I have only used them once as I’m very new. I have Grandbabies and when I page needs four or five pictures, ummmm, I have grandbabies. Haha
It’s so nice to be able to put more of the precious babies by using flip flaps. Don’t ever discontinue please.
I LOVE pocket scrapbooking because I never met a photo I couldn’t throw out. It makes quick and easy into beautiful and balanced pages.
These papers are amazing! I use flip flaps a lot for my kids. Too many pictures to not!!
I like using the pockets for card (Fronts) to show the versatility of the paper packet.
I have tried pocket scrapbooking and incorporated in with my traditional style. However, I found it very difficult to put the two styles together. I really love the traditional scrapbooking because it brings out my creativeness, and challenges me more. I also tend to use 4 x 6″ pictures that I cut down myself to the size that I want or need. So, my layouts are based upon the pictures I choose and the sizes they are. 🙂
I have not done much of this kind of scrapping but seeing this makes me want to.
While I prefer traditional scrapbooking, I do find pocket scrapbooking great if you are pressed for time. I live giving scrapbooks as gifts and often go with pocket scrapbooks as they come together in a snap.
I’ve used pocket pages many times. I really like them and think you can use them for any theme or pictures as long as they fit. I don’t have a particular style. I just go with comes in my head
I take LOTS of photos, especially when traveling. I like to use a combination of 12×12 pages and pocket pages. It allows me to use multiple photos on a page and to include a little, or a lot of journaling and/or embellishments. I think it makes my scrapbook more interesting by including a variety of page layouts.
Always 12×12 layouts some using flip flaps – not interested in pocket scrapbooking but have used some of the cards on my own greeting cards.
I haven’t made any pocket scrapbook pages yet, but I do like the idea and have been thinking of incorporating it into my scrapbooking. I might use both regular and picture my life cards in my next Disney Vacation album.
I don’t do pocket pages, but I do use flip flaps, which are great when I have more pictures than I have page space!
I have not tried pocket scrapbooking yet, I am mostly a cardmaker but this looks like a wonderful idea that I will have to put to use. Thanks for the inspiration!
I haven’t done these kind of pages before, but they look adorable!! So does the paper! I especially love the Palm Tree in the papers and the stamp🌴R
I haven’t done these types of pages before but I sure would love to!🌴🌴🌴
Love your pages. I have not tried the pocket pages but they are something I really need to use. I am way behind and need to get as much on a page as possible. Thanks for your give away.
I have tried pocket scrapbooking and I haven’t decided whether or not I like it. I do like that it makes a simple and easy scrapbook, but I also love cutting and playing with paper. I love how you created your own pocket designs! These are too cute!
I love pocket scrapbooking, and do it often. It brings out the creative side of me that’s for sure! I also like making different sized albums, especially the 6 x 8 size.
I like it all– pocket scrapping is a great idea too! I’ve done some, it’s pretty slick. The picture my life cards or the “cards” with the paper packet are so nice–beautiful designs, layers and all, with zero fuss on my part. (And of course, flip-flaps are the Bomb!) . Too late for me, but pocket scrapping is actually an inexpensive way to scrap– don’t have to buy a lot of extra supplies 😉
I have done traditional scrapbooking for years…but honestly it was taking to much time to tell my story so to speak. My consultant at the time, suggested pocket or postcard scrapbooking to me. OMG! I fell in love! I no longer had to really struggle thinking of variety or getting really fancy! Then you added flip flaps and bam! Another home run! I really like the idea. I use my leftovers for card making and I have minimal waste. I am going on a bucket list trip to Hawaii this summer! Love to get my hands on this pack! Hope to win!
I love pocket scrapbooking for vacations as it’s so quick to put an entire album together! I enjoy traditional scrapbooking also and basically any kind of paper crafting, lol.
I love to use lots of photos on my pages – be it for holiday/travel and those of our grandchildren, and family celebrations. I use 12” x 12” pocket pages, flip flaps, and now Pocket Plus Memory Protectors – they are all so versatile for any of my layouts.
Pocket scrapbooking is great for older pictures in the 3 x 5 size! It leaves plenty of room to mat photos or mount them offset and embellishments or a tiny tag.
I like to try different methods of scrapbooking. I really like flip flaps.
