Mixing & Matching Magic

Each Close To My Heart paper packet has its own theme, feel, and color scheme, which makes creating cohesive artwork a breeze! But at its heart, each packet is made up of beautiful, individual patterned papers that can be used together in all kinds of combinations.

Today we’re going to expand your horizon, invite you to try something new, get you out of your comfort zone, and all that jazz—because we’re going to share you with you three different approaches to mixing our paper packets together!

Approach #1: Invent your own color scheme and choose papers that fit. For this card, we chose pastel colors. Light pinks, blues, greens, and yellows from several different paper packets all work together in this cheery card.

Approach #2: Choose papers that are different tones of the same color and then add one or two accent colors. Here, we have all sorts of blues—Glacier, Juniper, and Peacock—accented by Pear and Gypsy papers.

Approach #3: Pair up different papers based on a shared color tone. In this example, we started with a paper we really liked—this Juniper one from the Georgie paper packet. The little Canary dots on our Georgie paper inspired us to pair it with the bright Canary paper from the Kaleidoscope paper packet. They make a beautiful duo, don’t they?

    • Fundamentals are great for mixing and matching—great idea! Thanks for the comment, Debra! 🙂

  1. Gorgeous artwork…..Love the card! I love combining our Fundamentals Paper packs with all of our beautiful paper collections, especially Charlotte.

  2. I often use B & T’s from different paper packs. Usually when I am trying to use up open packages, but sometimes just because I like the combination I create with the different packs. That is what I love and promote about CTMH papers; they all go together and you can mix and match freely. My customers love that too. 🙂

    • Thanks for this sweet comment, Joanne. And thank you for all you do to promote us! 😀
